- “I’m busy.”
- “I don’t have time.”
- “Lord, you are just not a priority for me right now.”
- “Lord, your word is boring.”
- “I know enough. I don’t need more study.”
- “It’s my money…my house…my car…my checkbook.”
- “It’s my life…my body…my time.”
Things I hope to never hear from my Savior:
- “I’m busy.”
- “I don’t have time.”
- “You are just not a priority for me right now.”
- “You bore me.”
- “You want to think that it’s your life, that you are in charge of everything? Fine. Have it your way. Just don’t come crawling to me when you need help.”
What we know to be true:
- “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God with your body.” (1 Corinthians 6:19,20 EHV)
- “I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13, EHV)
- “Freely you have received, freely give.” (Matthew 10:8b, EHV)
- “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Matthew 6:33, EHV)
- “You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, the people who are God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” (1 Peter 2:9 EHV)
May we listen to Jesus, and think about what he says and what he’s done for us, before we speak and act foolishly.
