We’re just over two months into 2024 – how are things?
What’s your mindset? What’s your status? How’s your outlook? Are you feeling beaten down, tired, and weary? Or are you upbeat, optimistic?
Enough of the questions already! But just one more, if I may… "What now?" vs. "What's next?" Do you see the difference?
“What now, God?” expresses frustration, hurt, helplessness, struggling faith. Been there? Me, too.
“What's next, Lord?” expresses hope, confidence, expectant faith. Been there? Are you there right now? I pray so, and that would be only by God's grace!
Keep working on your “uplook.” Keep looking up to the Savior and keep pestering him with expectant faith! No matter what comes your way, no matter what shows up on your radar, dare to ask the hopeful “What’s next, Lord?” rather than the pessimistic “What now, Lord?”
I don’t know what’s next for you specifically in Christ, but we do share the same “uplook” in Christ as we look away from self and up to Jesus.
- All that we need for life and faith each day
- The Lord’s protective hand watching over us and our loved ones
- A joyous Easter celebration on the horizon
- A forever Easter celebration awaiting us in heaven
“By the mercies of the Lord we are not consumed, for his compassions do not fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:22,23)
Thank you, Jesus, for all you've done and for all you are doing and for "What's next!"
Watching God work,
Pastor Stephen Luchterhand
