Throw in a huge unexpected challenge or two (my family has at least one “extra” at this time) and “distracted” doesn’t even begin to describe the feeling.
Overwhelmed. Frustrated. At wits’ end. At a loss for words. Or deeds. Helpless. Hopeless. Don’t know where to begin.
What to do? Even the “normal” stress of life throws us off. How to handle all of this? As younger folk among us like to say: “I can’t even…”
No preaching here. No lengthy dissertation or involved Scripture study. Just one thing – take Jesus up on his invitation: “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.” (Mark 6:31)
One more thought. It isn’t mine; it’s from God. But it’s one of my favorites. It’s a “go to” for me. “Be still, and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10). Two reminders here: I am not God; He, God, is God. Thank goodness. And, calm down/be quiet/stop!/be still. In his presence.
Exactly what I need. Gotta go…be with Jesus.
Peace in Jesus,
