What a blessing this is for each of us personally! Along with many of you, I enjoy multiple services and devotions each week. Fuel for faith from so many faithful servants of the Savior! Today in this space, I’d like to pass along an opportunity for mid-week online worship. This service was shared with me by Don and Elaine Helwig. Last Sunday’s service at St. John’s Lutheran of Juneau, WI can be accessed here: stjohnsjuneau.org
Why watch this service? Lakeside Lutheran High School’s choir provides wonderful music and a staff member provides an encouraging sermon message based on the doubting Thomas account while incorporating aspects of the Lord’s Prayer. Long-time Trinity members will especially appreciate that the choir director and the preacher share in the history of Trinity. Don Helwig shares these thoughts:
“The video begins with a short intro about the activities of the choir itself as presented by Director James Buege and a few comments from choir members themselves. James was the first called teacher to Trinity, Minocqua, and taught there the first 8 years of the school's history until 1984 when he accepted the call to Lakeside Lutheran HS. He's been there ever since! My service at Minocqua as principal and teacher began where James left off, and in that year son Mike was in 8th grade in my classroom and also being instructed by Pastor Kock.”
It is truly a blessing to see how God in his grace continues to bless people from Trinity’s past in their current ministry. You will also be edified by the message in both Word and song. 30 Days of Gratitude: #21 – Restaurants are struggling; but today (Tuesday, April 21) my family will enjoy take-out dinner gratis from Norwood Pines, which employs one of my daughters; they’re providing a meal for all the families of their employees!
#22 – The wealth of ways that our church and school leaders are faithfully
reaching members and students with spiritual teaching and content
#23 – Our five 8th grade confirmands and their parents; we’re working together in these unprecedented times to ensure completion of their studies and an
opportunity to confess their faith in a Confirmation service (now planned for May 31st at 1 p.m.; attendance at that service will likely be limited to
immediate families)
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus,
