Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church became an official entity on October 11, 1914. Let us reflect, briefly, on our Lord’s amazing gifts upon Trinity Lutheran until today. Then, encouraged and strengthened, let us move forward to carry out his mission under his blessing. Let us do this with urgency! Let us do it with joy!
Thank you Father, Son, and Holy Spirit! Thank you for…
- 110 years of blessings and opportunities
- For Law and Gospel, Word and Sacraments
- The privilege of receiving the body and blood of Jesus in, with, and under the bread and wine in Holy Communion
- 5720 weekends of worship
- Enabling Trinity Lutheran to be a spiritual oasis in the Northwoods, offering the free gift of the water of life and the lush green pastures of your Word
- 49 years (and counting) of Christian education through Trinity Lutheran School
- Faithful people, past and present, who have served you through this church and school, often in ways only you know
- Your faithfulness and constant presence at a variety of locations over the years, and for your blessing at the merger of First Lutheran (Woodruff) and Trinity Lutheran (Minocqua) into one church (in 1973) and for enriching and blessing our campus at our current location (since 1974)
- Faithful leaders – both past and present, lay people and called workers – who lead us forward in the vision and purpose you have for this church
- The sounds of splashing water, signaling yet another soul’s entrance into your kingdom through Holy Baptism (more than 1,450 baptisms)
- The sound of voices young and old confessing and confirming the faith which you have created in them (more than 1,400 confirmations)
- The joy of wedding vows exchanged before your altar (more than 450 marriages)
- The comfort of your Word when you’ve taken loved ones home to heaven (more than 625 funerals)
- Placing before us an open door of seemingly endless opportunities to grow and to go with your Word to this community
- Thank you Father, Son, and Holy Spirit for these and other countless blessings! Under your grace, we are confident of many more years of blessings and opportunities
Lord Jesus, you have preserved the preaching of your Word and the administration of your sacraments through generations and for the past 110 years at Trinity. Give us courage and hope as we move day by day into the future. Increase our trust in your precious promise that you are with us always. Cause your Holy Spirit to work mightily in us and through us, so that we may grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Continue to make our congregation a beacon of light in this sin-darkened world.
To God alone be the glory!
